LanieFrancis, M.D., a hematologist and medical oncologist at Hillman Cancer Center,
was searching for ways to further support her patients through what can sometimes be a long and complex cancer journey. Many of her patients asked how they could help
themselves, which sparked her interest in integrative cancer care, a
comprehensive approach addressing both the body and the mind.
As a result
of her patients’ inquiries, Dr. Francis secured a grant from the Shadyside
Hospital Foundation to organize the
inaugural Integrative Cancer Wellness Fair. The event will be held on
Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Herberman Conference Center at the UPMC
Cancer Pavilion.. Guests will be able to ask questions, see demonstrations, and
