UPMC Presbyterian: Welcoming Patients With A New Look

By Martin Kinnunen

Patients and their families might notice some changes the next time they visit UPMC Presbyterian.

Recently, UPMC's flagship hospital unveiled its newly renovated Registration and Diagnostic Testing area. The space includes neutral colors and vivid artwork, including art glass, in a spacious seating area. It was designed to be a calming environment that reduces anxieties and enhances the patient experience.

The new area is centrally located to provide easy access to all first-floor amenities such as Starbucks, the LHAS Presby Floral and Gift Shop and PNC Bank.

The work was completed as part of a multiphase project undertaken with Radiology. In the coming months, patients and families will use first-floor Registration and Diagnostic Testing as a “one-stop shop” to register for surgeries and treatments, as well as x-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs and other diagnostic tests.
