Every day is Veteran’s Day at the
University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences Center for Military Medicine Research (CMMR), according to its executive director Col. (ret.) Ron Poropatich.
The CMMR aims to foster projects particularly in regenerative medicine, reconstructive surgery, transplantation immunology, and neuroscience that could offer new hope to wounded warriors. On Friday, Pitt scientists, UPMC physicians and military medical leadership gathered at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum to talk about the health care needs of soldiers and their families, and also honored the service of veterans, some of whom reside at UPMC Senior Communities.
